New Album Announcement

Minnesota metal band Oak Pantheon will release their long-awaited third full-length album “The Absence” on January 20, 2023. The album showcases the band's most eclectic yet most concise material to date as evidenced by the two singles available prior to the album's release. “Bard of the Hell-Bent Ages” is a blackened ripper with punk attitude and acoustic flavor, while “Listen!” is a violent love letter to prog metal with an anthemic singalong chorus. The core sound, however, remains intact and stronger than ever with contributions from bassist Jake Spanier (Phase Meridian) and drummer Andy Anderson (Kasdeja). These new players add life and vibrancy to “The Absence” that had been... absent... in prior Oak Pantheon releases.

Pre-orders for digital, CD, and vinyl are available on Bandcamp.

The singles “Listen!” and “Bard of the Hell-Bent Ages” are available for streaming or download (Name Your Price) at the link above and on most major streaming platforms.

Bio

Oak Pantheon was born in 2011 upon the release of their first song, “Architect of the Void, Pt I”. The song gained surprising underground traction and inspired Sami Sati and Tanner Swenson to continue writing and recording what would become “The Void” EP with the help of Sean Golyer, who engineered, mixed, and co-produced. The trio would go on to release multiple LPs, EPs, and splits through 2018, including the acclaimed 2016 LP “In Pieces” and the 2018 neofolk EP “Sol”. After the release of the “Gathering II” split with Amiensus in 2018, things were quiet in the Oak Pantheon camp until 2020, when work began in earnest on material that would eventually become “The Absence”.

“The Absence” is Oak Pantheon's first full-length release with bassist Jake Spanier (Phase Meridian) and drummer Andy Anderson (Kasdeja), and their contributions elevated the material immeasurably. At just over 41 minutes, “The Absence” presents Oak Pantheon at their most sharp and infectious without sacrificing the atmosphere and melodicism that has set them apart in the past.
